　　The cock is crowing，公雞在啼;

　　The stream is flowing，小溪在流，

　　The small birds twitter，雉鳥在鳴，

　　The lake doth glitter，湖水也在閃爍

　　The green fields sleep in the sun;綠野安眠在陽光下;

　　The oldest and youngest 老的、小的

　　Are at work with the strongest;和健壯的一起工作著;

　　The cattle are grazing，牛兒忙吃草，

　　Their heads never raising;一直不抬頭;

　　There are forty feeding like one!雖有四十頭，看似一頭樣!

　　Like an army defeated 猶如戰敗的軍隊，

　　The snow hath retreated，雪已融退，

　　And now doth fare ill 這陣更是敗慘

　　On the top of the bare hill;在愈見光禿禿的山坡上;

　　The ploughboy is whooping--anon--anon 耕童時時在田壟呼喊

　　There's joy in the mountains;笑謔充滿山林，

　　There's life in the fountains，噴泉洋溢生命，

　　Small clouds are sailing，浮云飄過，

　　Blue sky prevailing，藍天盡顯，

　　The rain is over and gone.雨過天晴。
